Intensive and semi-intensive English as a Second Language classes are offered to non-native speaking immigrants and refugees in the literacy beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Conversation, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar are taught in a combined skills core class with special emphasis on the skills for survival English and employment-related English. Teachers will help students choose specific skills to supplement their core classes. These are limited, open entry classes. Before entering the program, students must take the required English language placement test. This test is given several times throughout the quarter.
